Polyester UV Catalyst

UV Catalyst is a photo-initiator powder used to enable sunlight (UV) curing in polyester resin systems. When mixed into resin, the powder absorbs ultraviolet energy from sunlight and triggers a chemical reaction that rapidly converts liquid resin into a solid, fully cured state.

This allows for controlled UV curing of laminating or sanding resins, providing extended working time until exposed to sunlight, at which point curing begins immediately and progresses quickly.

UV Catalyst is commonly used in surfboard manufacturing and repair applications where UV-controlled cure timing is preferred for efficiency and working flexibility.

• 7 grams UV Catalyst powder per 1 gallon of polyester resin

Application Notes

Mix thoroughly into polyester resin before application. Resin will remain workable until exposed to UV light (sunlight), at which point curing will begin rapidly. Avoid unintended sunlight exposure during working time.

Shelf Life

Minimum shelf life: 1 year when stored properly
