S-Glass (or S-2 glass) is a premium fiberglass cloth engineered for high-performance surfboard construction. Originally developed for military applications, it offers around 30% greater tensile strength and 10–15% higher stiffness than standard E-glass.

This added strength improves impact resistance and helps reduce heel dents, increasing overall durability. With a slightly lower density, S-Glass laminations can be 20–35% lighter than comparable E-glass builds without compromising structural integrity.
