The 4 oz 38" Basalt surfboard cloth is a high-performance, eco-conscious reinforcement fabric designed as an alternative to traditional fiberglass in surfboard construction. Woven in a clean plain-weave pattern, it laminates smoothly in a similar manner to E-Glass while offering improved impact resistance and vibration damping characteristics.

Basalt fiber is known for its ability to absorb impact energy without shattering, unlike carbon fiber, making it a preferred material in applications where durability and damage resistance are more important than extreme stiffness. It also provides a more controlled, dampened flex response compared to standard fiberglass, which can help reduce chatter in EPS and high-performance builds.

The 38-inch width is ideal for longboards, SUPs, and foil boards, allowing full deck and bottom coverage with proper rail lap development. This makes it well suited for wider board outlines where clean, continuous laminations are critical.
