Curved Japanese Plane

The Curved Japanese Plane is a specialized hand plane designed for trimming and leveling the wood stringer along the rocker of a surfboard blank. Its curved sole allows the plane to follow the board's rocker more naturally than a traditional flat-bottom plane, providing better control when working through curved areas of the blank.

The compact body and narrow 1/2" blade make it particularly useful for precise stringer work while minimizing contact with the surrounding foam.

This is a useful complement to a standard flat stringer plane when shaping areas where the curvature of the rocker makes it difficult for a flat sole to maintain consistent contact.
