Modified Wen Surfboard Planer 

The Modified Wen Surfboard Planer was developed with one goal in mind: to provide surfboard shapers with an affordable planer designed specifically for shaping surfboards.

The Wen platform was selected because of its comfortable handle angle, which already lends itself well to surfboard shaping without requiring extensive modifications. Building on that foundation, several key upgrades have been made to improve performance, control, and usability in the shaping bay.

Each planer features a 20-foot power cord for increased mobility, a vacuum exhaust attachment for dust collection, and rounded front shoe edges for smoother transitions across the blank. The most significant upgrade is the custom depth control system, which allows the planer to transition from closed to the full 1/8" cutting depth in just a quarter turn of the adjustment knob. This provides fast, precise, on-the-fly depth adjustments throughout the shaping process.
