Silmar® 249A Polyester Laminating Resin is the industry-standard resin used for fiberglass lamination in surfboard construction. Known for its exceptional clarity, reliable wet-out, and consistent performance, Silmar 249A has been trusted by professional surfboard builders and backyard shapers for decades.

Laminating resin is formulated to cure with a tacky surface, allowing additional fiberglass layers and hot coats to chemically bond without sanding between applications. When combined with polyester surfacing agent (wax solution), Silmar 249A can also be converted into sanding (hot-coat) resin.

Manufactured in Hawthorne, California since 1961, Silmar resins have earned a reputation as some of the highest-quality polyester resins available to the surfboard industry.
