Silmar® 249A UV Polyester Laminating Resin is a professional-grade surfboard laminating resin designed for fiberglass lamination where extended working time is required. This UV-cure formulation does not fully harden until exposed to sunlight, giving shapers greater control during layup and allowing for adjustments before final curing.
Once exposed to UV light, the resin cures to a tacky surface ideal for secondary bonding. Like standard laminating resins, it can also be converted into sanding (hot-coat) resin when combined with polyester surfacing agent (wax solution).
Silmar UV resins are trusted throughout the surfboard industry for their consistency, clarity, and reliable cure performance.
Manufactured in Hawthorne, California since 1961, Silmar resins have become a benchmark for high-quality polyester resin systems used by professional surfboard builders worldwide.
